Proper Care

Store your brush in a dry area. Enclosed toothbrush storage cups can collect water and are not ideal. If your bathroom seems to hold moisture, consider drying your brush with a towel after each use as well.

Bamboo handles may fade with continued use. This is normal and will not impact the life of your brush.

Your bamboo toothbrush should last just as long as a traditional plastic brush. Replace your brush every three months, or when bristles are visibly frayed according to the American Dental Association's recommendations.

Up-cycling & Reusing Your Brush Before Disposal

There are many things you can do with a toothbrush once you are no longer brushing with it. A quick boil for 5-6 minutes can assure you that it is sanitized and ready to be reused. Here a just a few ideas:

  • Clean tile grout, or other bathroom surfaces
  • Detail small spaces in your car, like cup holders
  • Clean laundry stains or dirty shoes
  • Arts and crafts
  • Mixing paints or glues

To properly dispose of your eco-friendly bamboo toothbrush we must disassemble the brush. The bristles are not biodegradable, meaning they must be removed.

Removal of the Bristles

Using pliers, remove the bristles from the head of the brush. Removing the bristles will also remove a small metal staple that is used to clamp the bristles to the handle head. The staple is standard of all toothbrushes and can be recycled.

Recycling the Bristles

We use Nylon-6 bristles in our toothbrush because Nylon is still the most effective material used for cleaning teeth. Unfortunatley they are not biodegratable, but they are recyclable! Place them in your curbside recycling, or take them to your local recycling facility to assure they don't get lost in the mix.

Reuse or Compost Handle

The bare toothbrush handle can now be disposed of in a composting bin that will return it to the soil within 6 months, or you can continue to use it in your home. Here are just a few examples of how:

  • Garden & plant markers
  • Stirring stick for drinks
  • Fire starters
  • Arts and crafts

Disposal of Packaging

Our packaging is biodegradable and made from 100% paper. Dispose of the packaging in a recycling bin or compost it with the handle.

Bamboo Interdental Brush

Care & Disposal

Brush Care

Store interdental brushes in a dry location. Rinse brush and bristles after each use. Change brush out when bristles become frayed or bent.

Use pliers to remove the entire head and bristles of the brush, or simply break off the tip so just bamboo remains. The wire head will need to be recycled or landfilled, and the bamboo handle is ready for reuse or to be composted.

Our kraft paper packaging is biodegradable and made from 100% paper. Dispose of packing in a recycling or composting bin.
